Position Summary
The Personal Care Support (Caregiver) provides hands-on assistance and emotional support to individuals who need help with daily living activities. This may include personal hygiene, mobility assistance, companionship, medication reminders, and basic household support.
The ideal candidate is patient, attentive, trustworthy, and capable of providing care with professionalism and empathy. This role requires discretion, reliability, and a strong commitment to maintaining dignity and independence for the individual receiving care.
Key Responsibilities
Personal Care & Daily Living Support
Assist with personal hygiene, grooming, bathing, and dressing
Support mobility, transfers, and positioning as needed
Assist with toileting and continence care
Provide reminders for medications as prescribed
Monitor general well-being and report concerns promptly
Health, Safety & Comfort
Ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable environment
Observe and report changes in physical or emotional condition
Follow care plans and safety guidelines
Assist with basic health monitoring when required
Respond calmly and effectively to emergencies
Companionship & Emotional Support
Provide companionship and emotional reassurance
Encourage independence and participation in daily activities
Engage in conversation and social interaction
Support mental and emotional well-being
Maintain a respectful, positive, and supportive presence
Household & Light Assistance
Assist with light housekeeping tasks related to care
Help with meal preparation and feeding if required
Run errands or assist with appointments as assigned
Maintain cleanliness of personal care areas and equipment
Communication & Documentation
Communicate clearly with supervisors, family members, or care coordinators
Document care activities accurately when required
Follow confidentiality and privacy standards at all times
Report incidents, concerns, or changes promptly
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Previous experience as a caregiver, personal care aide, or support worker preferred
Compassionate, patient, and dependable demeanor
Ability to follow instructions and care plans
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Physical ability to assist with mobility and daily care tasks
Commitment to confidentiality and professional conduct
Preferred Qualifications
Certification as a Caregiver, CNA, HHA, or equivalent
First Aid and CPR certification
Experience providing in-home or personal care support
Familiarity with mobility assistance or adaptive equipment
Background check clearance
