We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join our culinary team. Duties
- Prepare ingredients and assemble components for menu items according to recipes and standards
- Assist in food preparation including chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning ingredients
- Support cooking activities by following established procedures and safety guidelines
- Maintain proper food handling practices to ensure safety and hygiene
- Assist with plating and presentation of dishes for service
- Help with kitchen organization, including stocking supplies and cleaning work stations
- Collaborate with culinary staff to ensure timely meal production and delivery
- Support catering events and special functions as needed
- Follow all food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness standards throughout the kitchen
Experience
- Previous experience in food industry roles such as dietary aide, culinary assistant, or prep cook preferred
- Experience in menu planning, food preparation, cooking, and food service operations beneficial
- Strong knife skills and familiarity with meal preparation techniques required
- Knowledge of food safety protocols and proper food handling practices essential
- Restaurant or catering experience is a plus but not mandatory for highly motivated candidates
- Familiarity with dietary department procedures or working within a healthcare or institutional setting is advantageous
