Responsibilities
- Operate cash registers accurately, handling retail sales transactions with precision and efficiency
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries
- Manage cash drawer handling responsibly, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed at all times
- Conduct product demos to educate customers about features and benefits, encouraging upselling opportunities
- Stock shelves and merchandise displays to maintain an organized and inviting store environment
- Assist with merchandising efforts to highlight promotional items and new products effectively
- Maintain professional phone etiquette when responding to customer inquiries or internal communications
- Support inventory management by assisting with stocking, inventory counts, and product replenishment
Experience
- Prior experience in retail sales or cashiering roles is preferred, especially within grocery stores or similar retail environments
- Supervising experience is a plus, demonstrating leadership in team settings
- Familiarity with POS (Point of Sale) systems and cash register operations is essential for smooth transaction processing
- Experience conducting product demos and upselling techniques to maximize sales opportunities
- Strong communication skills in bilingual settings are advantageous for serving diverse customer bases
- Knowledge of retail math, cash handling procedures, and basic math skills are necessary for accurate transactions
- Previous experience in grocery store environments or retail merchandising enhances your ability to succeed in this role
Pay: From $14.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40.0 per week
