Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for animals in kennels, including feeding, watering, cleaning, and monitoring their health status.
- Handle animals with gentle expertise, ensuring proper handling techniques for dogs, cats, and other small animals to reduce stress.
- Assist with check-in/check-out processes for boarding and grooming animals and communicate effectively with pet owners regarding care instructions.
- Support emergency response protocols by recognizing signs of distress or illness in animals and alerting management staff promptly.
Qualifications
- Previous kennel or grooming salon experience background preferred; experience working in veterinary clinics or shelters is highly valued.
- Knowledge of pet care terminology and practices is advantageous.
- Ability to handle a variety of animals safely using appropriate restraint techniques.
- Experience with medication administration, including oral, topical, or injectable routes.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a compassionate attitude towards animals are essential.
- Strong customer service experience
- Familiarity with kennel software, Kennel Connection preferred
