SUMMARY The Cook will transform high-quality, unique ingredients into authentic dishes through preparing, cooking and plating food and dishes as directed by senior culinary staff, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards. The Cook will have a passion for cooking, and the desire to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment. You must enjoy the satisfaction of meaningful productivity and contributing to a positive café team ethos.  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS  

• Prepare all menu items according to recipe requirements and adhere to product sensitivity and plate presentation guidelines. 


• Work with speed and efficiency to ensure proper and timely output of restaurant menu items. 


• Ensure the compliance of nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards. 


• Maintain a clean and organized workstation throughout the shift. 


• Accommodate special requests and dietary restrictions. 


• Ensure ingredient freshness by checking for quality and keeping track of old and new items. 


• Ensure proper food temperatures are maintained and food is stored correctly. 


• Properly set up workstation with all ingredients and cooking equipment. 


• Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. 


• Performs any other relevant duties as assigned by kitchen supervisor or MOD.

The Cook must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities to demonstrate they can perform the essential functions of the job, along with the physical requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIRED 

• 1 years of experience in kitchen positions 


• Hold a current state food handlers' certification.
