What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Assistant position at Love In Action of the Tri-Cities?
The Warehouse Assistant works as a member of the Love in Action team, side-by-side with other staff members, to serve volunteers, clients, and donors. This individual will demonstrate a love for Christ exemplified by grace and flexibility in compassion for clients, encouragement and training for volunteers, and thankful connection and information for donors. Important characteristics include sound judgment, good listening skills, patience, understanding, compassion and discernment at all times. This position reports to both the Operations Manager and Operations Director.
· Assists the Warehouse Manager in all ministry areas related to Operations (Donation Processing, Transportation, Food Procurement, etc.)
o Corresponds with donors enabling smooth donation receives
o Supports timely and consistent deliveries of donated goods to Love in Action stores
o May be required to assist or perform in maintenance projects
o Work with volunteers to train & encourage their service at the warehouse
· Assist the Warehouse Manager with processes and procedures regarding food ministry, Co-op, and Backpack Blessing supplies, including:
o Pantry restocking
o Walk-in stocking and cleaning
o Food transportation
· Assist the Operations Director in management of all supplies and the ordering process for all Love in Action locations
· Christ-focused
· Ability to work with diverse array of volunteers and staff providing encouragement, feedback and training
· Good time management skills
· Organizational skills and attention to detail
· Ability to operate Love in Action vehicles and lift truck including possession of a valid Michigan driver’s license and lift truck license
· Ability to physically move donated materials, up to 50 lbs.
· Basic computer skills
High School Diploma; some college preferred
This position is part-time 20 hours per week
(Operation hours: Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.)

Simple IRA, available after one year, if qualified
Starting at $15.00 per hour
