Role Description
Reporting to the Finance Director, this is a full-time on-site Accounting Manager role located in Rochester, NY. The Accounting Manager plays a critical role in supporting the financial health and performance of the business. This position is responsible for overseeing the month-end close process, maintaining accurate and timely financial data, job costing and ensuring compliance with all accounting policies and regulations. The Accounting Manager will work closely with departmental managers to assist with financial planning, analysis, and decision-making, ultimately optimizing business performance.
The ideal candidate will have the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
- 5 years of experience in accounting with a focus on financial reporting, analysis and compliance.
- Strong data analysis skills and the ability to use financial data to drive decision-making.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trust and effectively collaborate with all stakeholders.
- Experience in managing month-end close processes and ensuring financial statement accuracy.
- Familiarity with capital expenditure protocols and managing fixed assets.
- Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements in finance and accounting.
- Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and efficiency.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is a plus
