Accounting Manager

Summary

The Accounting Manager plays a critical role in supporting the financial health and performance of the business. This position is responsible for overseeing the month-end close process, maintaining accurate and timely financial data, job costing and ensuring compliance with all accounting policies and regulations. The Accounting Manager will work closely with departmental managers to assist with financial planning, analysis, and decision-making, ultimately optimizing business performance. The Accounting Manager will report to the Finance Director.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the month-end close process, including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and account analysis. Ensures compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
• Accurately Job Cost and Analyze Standard Cost Variances
• Ensure all deadlines are met and that financial statements are accurate and complete.
• Partner with operating departments to achieve objectives and update accounting procedures in response to business changes.
• Assist department heads with budget reporting and financial analysis.
• Consolidate financial data and prepare financial packages for external stakeholders.
• Maintain and update accounting policies, procedures, and controls to ensure financial statement accuracy.
• Support audits, tax returns, and other regulatory requirements.
• Conduct ad hoc analysis and reporting as needed, supporting the Controller.
• Drive continuous process improvement and efficiency and participate in special projects and system implementations.
• Ensure adherence to capital expenditure protocols and approval procedures, including ROI assessments.
• Manage fixed assets and ensure accurate reporting and control.
• Manage the company's banking relationship with M&T Bank.
• Support inventory costing and the rolling of raw material costs month-over-month.
• Supervises 2 direct reports

Attributes

·       Proven experience in accounting with a focus on financial reporting, analysis, and compliance.

·       Strong data analysis skills and the ability to use financial data to drive decision-making.

·       Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trust and effectively collaborate with all stakeholders

·       Experience in managing month-end close processes and ensuring financial statement accuracy.

·       Familiarity with capital expenditure protocols and managing fixed assets.

·       Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements in finance and accounting.

·       Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and efficiency.

·       Epicor experience preferred

·       Ability to work in a fast paced environment, by hitting the ground running

Minimum Qualifications

·       Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

·       5 years of experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: S - Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

PAY RANGE: $80-90,000 depending on experience

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
