Loureiro Engineering Associates is seeking a Land Surveying Intern to join our Land Surveying team in Plainville, or Groton CT. This internship offers hands-on experience supporting land surveying and civil site development projects. From your first day, you’ll work alongside experienced surveyors and engineers, applying classroom knowledge to real-world projects that support land development and infrastructure improvements.
This is a paid internship.
This opportunity is ideal for students who are eager to grow their technical skills and gain practical experience in surveying and civil engineering.
What You’ll Do
Assist experienced survey field staff with topographic and boundary surveys, route surveys, stream surveys, and construction stakeouts
Gain exposure to progressive technology, including robotic total stations, GPS, UAS (drone), and LiDAR scanning
Learn to collect survey data and search for boundary evidence while working in a variety of terrain and outdoor conditions
Perform physical field tasks such as setting stakes and monuments, clearing brush, and hiking
Utilize surveying software to gather, retrieve, and interpret data, and perform basic survey computations

What You Bring
Junior, senior, or graduate-level student in Civil Engineering or a related field
Minimum 3.0 GPA
Strong understanding of civil engineering fundamentals
Prior internship experience in land surveying or a related discipline is a plus
Physical ability to work outdoors under varying environmental conditions
Willingness to travel occasionally as project needs require
Valid driver’s license
