Lourdes Rehabilitation and HealthCare is located in Waterford, MI. Since 1965, Lourdes has ministered to seniors and their families. Established by the Dominican Sisters, the Order has followed their ministry to care for the sick and elderly for over 60 years.
Position Summary:
The Certified Nurse Aide works under the guidance and direction of the Staff Nurse in giving care to residents. She/he assumes responsibility and works cooperatively with other personnel.
Wages: up to $25.15/hour depending on years of experience, includes the state of MI direct care workers pay of $3.40/hr.
We are looking for afternoon shift coverage with Temporary Aides with a potential to "sign on" as a full time employee.
We have afternoons open but there is an opportunity to "pick up" to fill in on other shifts as well.
Day Shift (7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.)
Afternoons (3:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m.) 5% premium
Midnights (11:00 p.m. - 7:30 a.m.) 10% premium
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Attends to comfort of residents and assists residents with measures of hygiene and personal care.
2. Responds to and answers all resident call and emergency lights.
3. Gathers and records resident vitals and completes other care documentation as directed.
4. Prepares residents for meals and feeds residents as directed by the Staff Nurse. Serves and collects meal trays and glasses.
5. Maintains cleanliness of resident rooms, equipment, and work areas according to standards. Follows standards of handwashing and infection control.
6. Remains alert to general resident safety. Reports pertinent information and any unusual condition of resident to the charge nurse
7. Assists the Staff Nurse in the admission, discharge, and transfer of residents to treatments, activities, and meals.
8. Demonstrates respect for the rights, dignity, individuality, and freedom of choice of each resident in all interactions.
Qualifications:
1. Must have a current certification as a C.N.A by the State of Michigan.
2. Must be at least eighteen years of age.
3. High School graduate preferred.
4. Cooperative with superiors and works well with others.
5. Demonstrates leadership, counseling and teaching abilities.
6. Most possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, etc.
Physical and Sensory Requirements (With or without the Aid of Mechanical Devices):
1. Must be able to move throughout the work day (sit, stand, bend, kneel, squat, and walk).
3. Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
4. Must possess sight and hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of the position can be fully met.
