The Office of Research Services is seeking a detail-oriented student worker to assist with the digitization of historical research files. This position will focus primarily on scanning physical paper records into the Kuali Research System and ensuring accurate electronic filing. The student worker must handle confidential documents with care and follow specific scanning and naming protocols.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and scan paper-based IRB and research administration files into the Kuali Research System.
- Review scanned documents for accuracy and completeness.
- Organize and label scanned files according to established digital filing conventions.
- Maintain confidentiality of all research materials and follow data protection policies.
- Track daily scanning progress and report any discrepancies or issues.
- Assist with light clerical tasks such as filing, organizing, and occasional data entry, as needed.
- Follow all departmental procedures for document handling and scanning workflows.
- Must be currently enrolled as an LSU Health Sciences Center student, enrolled at least a part-time status, in good standing.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle repetitive tasks with consistency.
- Comfortable using office equipment such as scanners, copiers, and computers.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Outlook and Excel).
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive documents.
- Previous office or administrative experience (including scanning or filing).
- Familiarity with electronic systems for document management.
