The University Laboratory School was founded in 1915 as a model demonstration school to provide/serve as: an exemplary education for its students; a model educational environment; a center for educational innovation and research; professional development opportunities for the state's educators; clinical teaching experiences for pre-service teachers. The position of University Laboratory School Instructor will serve as the lead educator in the designated area of discipline (Kindergarten). As a ULS Instructor/Teaching Associate 3, you will seek maximum student achievement through the development, implementation and demonstration of cutting-edge research, innovation and instructional practices.
85% Planning, Teaching, & Classroom Management:
Teach classes, daily, on assigned content area; Plan and deliver lessons that are aligned with the school's curriculum and meet state standards, through the use of engaging, research-based and innovative practices; Create and maintain a safe and respectful classroom environment that adheres to the school's mission, vision, and policies/procedures (as outlined in the faculty/staff and parent/student handbooks); Communicates responsibly and professionally with all students, parents, colleagues, and school leadership.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in related field
University Laboratory Instructors are hired with a master's degree and 3 years of experience. If the candidate only possesses the minimum qualifications (bachelor's degree), they will be hired as a University Laboratory School Teaching Associate 3 and will be required to obtain a master's degree within three years of start date, at which point they will advance to a University Laboratory School Instructor.
Must have a valid Louisiana Teaching Certificate prior to hire or must provide the equivalent from another state and update certificate to Louisiana, no later than seven (7) days before the effective hire date.
Preferred: Master's Degree in related field and 3 or more years of classroom teaching experience
