About This Position
This position involves highly responsible work under the broad supervision of a Right of Way Manager and is responsible for LaDOTD right of way projects managed and worked by right of way consultants and Right of Way Section employees. Directs and manages one of five (5) Right of Way Regional Offices involving Right of Way Acquisition, Relocation Assistance and Property Management programs and activities; in furtherance of the Department Statewide project development and contract letting goals.
This position will be filled as a promotion (only open to DOTD permanent status employees).

Minimum Qualifications
APPRAISER OPTION:
Possession of a current Louisiana Certified General Appraiser license plus three years of experience as a licensed General Appraiser.
Agent Option
Seven years of experience in property rights acquisition, real estate acquisition, real estate property management, relocation assistance, or real estate appraisal; OR
Six years of full-time experience in any field plus four years of experience in property rights acquisition, real estate acquisition, real estate property management, relocation assistance, or real estate appraisal; OR
A bachelor's degree plus four years of experience in property rights acquisition, real estate acquisition, real estate property management, relocation assistance, or real estate appraisal.
Experience Substitution (agent Option Only)
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

- Directs and manages the Region 3 Right of Way offices located in Lafayette and Lake Charles.
- Participates in the development of acquisition, relocation, and property management policies.
- Manages and supervises all activities of a staff of right of way agents.
- Requires regular contact with the public property owners and consultants.
- Responsible for the everyday operation of a Regional Right of Way office, including making sure the facility is kept up and maintained, that the office equipment is always maintained and operating properly, and that the office is always supplied with the necessities for proper operation.
- Some travel is required.
