The incumbent must be self-motivated and be able to perform duties many times with or without minimal supervision and also be able to interpret unforeseen conditions as they may arise. The incumbent will participate in appropriate DOTD structured training programs as appropriate and attend all continuing education classes and conferences deemed necessary to facilitate the performance of required task.
Minimum Qualifications
Possession of a high school diploma or GED; OR
Six months of experience in sub-professional engineering, heavy mobile equipment operation, or mobile equipment maintenance.

- Computes and checks earthwork quantities, computation sheets, cross sections, related field books, benchmark forms.
- Generates partial and final estimates, final plans (As-Builts), and final change orders.
- Assists field Engineers when they are shorthanded in the field.
- Keeps accurate inventory (quantity and quality) of materials used by contractors.
- Specialized knowledge, skills, and abilities: Work consists of reading and sending e-mail using Outlook. Must have working knowledge of basic computer software, such as Excel, Word, and Site Manager

- Engineering Technician 1 - The starting salary is $14.00/hourly with an additional $2.00 optional pay for every hour worked.
- Engineering Technician 2 - Starting salary is $16.03/hourly with an additional $2.00 optional pay for every hour worked.
- Engineering Technician 3 - Starting salary is $18.35/hourly with an additional $2.00 optional pay for every hour worked.
- Engineering Technician 4 - Starting salary is $21.00/hourly with an additional $2.00 optional pay for every hour worked.
