Inventory and Receiving Clerk
Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC)
Providing Reliable Support, Supporting Operational Efficiency, Strengthening Operational Success
This position will assist the Property and Receiving Manager with the department’s day-to-day functions including, but not limited to, receiving the college’s deliveries, ensuring items received match college issued purchase orders, fulfilling the daily mail sorting functions, and supporting asset and inventory management activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assists with tagging items with the State of Louisiana Asset Management Property tag.
- Assists with managing the College’s day-to-day mail room duties by sorting all BRCC incoming mail, including bulk mailings, registered, certified mail, and certificate of mailing items.
- Signs for deliveries and ensures delivered items match the purchase order for proper fulfillment of the purchase.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of the warehouse workspace.
- Provide courteous assistance to students, faculty and staff
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Associate’s degree in any field.
Experience
- One year of job experience within an office setting in which clerical work was a major duty.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Advance organizational skills.
- Proficient communication skills (oral and written).
- Proficient skills as it relates to taking and following directions.
- Proficient reading and comprehension skills.
- Proficient customer service skills.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems.
Preferred Experience
- One year or more experience in the areas of inventory and/or receiving management.
