Overview: The Electronics Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electronic equipment, systems, and components used in industrial manufacturing environments. This role involves working with a wide range of electronic products, controls, and machinery to ensure optimal performance and reliability. On a daily basis, the technician performs troubleshooting, diagnostics, routine maintenance, and system upgrades while supporting production operations and minimizing downtime.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
System Installation and Calibration
- Install, configure, and calibrate electronic systems and equipment according to technical drawings, schematics, and manufacturer specifications.
- Assist in the setup and commissioning of new equipment and production lines.
- Verify system functionality through testing and adjustment to meet operational standards.
Troubleshooting and Repairs
- Diagnose electrical and electronic malfunctions using testing devices such as multimeters and software diagnostic tools.
- Repair or replace defective components, circuit boards, sensors, wiring, and control systems.
- Work closely with production teams to quickly resolve equipment issues and minimize operational disruptions.
Preventative Maintenance
- Perform scheduled inspections, preventative maintenance, and routine servicing of equipment.
- Identify potential issues before failures occur and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain equipment reliability through continuous monitoring and performance checks.
- Perform hands-on mechanical maintenance, including troubleshooting equipment, using hand tools to complete repairs and adjustments, and performing minor welding and fabrication tasks as needed to support operational efficiency.
Documentation and Recordkeeping
- Maintain accurate logs of maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and service schedules.
- Update maintenance management systems and documentation to ensure compliance.
- Track parts usage and inventory levels to support maintenance operations.
Safety and Compliance
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and company safety policies.
- Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and other safety protocols when servicing equipment.
- Identify and report safety hazards and participate in safety improvement initiatives.
Workplace Organization
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including tool cribs and maintenance areas.
- Properly store tools, equipment, and materials to ensure accessibility and accountability.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Work Environment
- Manufacturing or industrial facility environment.
- May require working evenings, weekends, or on-call shifts to support production needs.
- Exposure to moving machinery, electrical systems, and varying environmental conditions.

- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain personal vehicle insurance.
- 3–5 years of experience working with industrial Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), including platforms such as Allen-Bradley, Siemens, and Schneider Electric.
- Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards is required.
- Ability to lift at least 35 pounds, reach overhead, stoop, and bend.
- Previous experience in maintenance or a related technical field (HVAC, electrical, or construction certification is highly valued).
