Opened in 1911, Cossetta’s has been known for its award-winning pizza, homemade sauces, handmade Italian sausages and welcoming staff. With our recently-completed “Alimentari” expansion of the highly successful Cossetta’s, retail market, eatery and “Eventi” Catering, as well as the introduction of our new Pasticceria and rooftop restaurant “Louis Ristorante”, we are always searching for experienced people to grow with our exciting company.
Job Position: Bartender
Department: Frank's Levee Tavern & Louis Ristorante
Job Tasks and Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Provides warm greeting and Cossetta welcome to all guests
- Provides guests with menus and notifies them of current specials/drink specials
- Provides prompt, courteous customer service
- Operates P.O.S. system according to cash handling policies and procedures
- Obtains and verifies opening money bank; totals and submits bank and receipts in drop bank at the end of shift
- Knows, suggestively sells, and provides expertise regarding all restaurant products to customers
- Makes and/or recommends on-the-spot product quality decisions
- Stocks, rotates, and serves entire bar
- Transports all dirty dishes to dish room for cleaning
- Maintains proper food handling, safety, and sanitation standards
- Verifies proper identification for alcohol sales
- Maintains cleanliness and appearance of station and equipment
- Inventories and stocks all paper supplies, glassware, and promotional material
- Sets up and prepares coffee and espresso service
- Ensures all menu items and food displays are merchandised and presented attractively
- Answers telephone according to Cossetta standards
- Attends and participates in staff meetings and special functions
- Performs all assigned daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks
- Adheres to all company safety regulations and work rules
- Safeguards stock and inventory from theft; notifies management of problem incidents
- Assists in removing trash and breaking down boxes
- Gathers and carries dirty linen to designated bins
- Controls expenses by exercising care in the use of all equipment, supplies, small wares, and inventories.
- Instructs and trains new employees in department procedures
- May assist with company fiscal period inventory count
- Accepts instruction from department lead person
- Performs all station and community Open/Close activities
- Drinks made according to recipe guidelines
- Assures that all drinks have been rung up
- Correct prices charged for all drinks
- A current Guestcheck is in front of guests at the bar at all times
- Keeps bar top and back bar clean and free of debris (straws, stir sticks, bottles, etc.)
- Server drinks are made within 3 minutes
- Continuously check keg capacities and change kegs when empty
- Acquires assistance when moving kegs
- Performs all other tasks as assigned

Job Duties:
- Provide excellent customer service by taking orders, preparing them efficiently, and building a rapport with clientele
- Handle card and cash transactions, ensuring that all funds in the cash drawer are accounted for by the end of the shift
- Keep an eye on patron intoxication levels and respond appropriately
- Identify belligerent customers, and work with management when needed to maintain a safe environment
- Clean the bar and the surrounding area of spills and other messes as needed
- Other duties as requested
