Louis Allis is growing, and we're looking for experienced **Electric Motor Mechanics / Industrial Motor Technicians** to join our team.
This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys mechanical work, troubleshooting, precision measurement, and seeing a repair through from teardown to final testing.
You'll work on industrial electric motors in a **clean, team-oriented shop** with the equipment and support needed to do quality work.
**Electric motor experience is preferred. [If applicable: Strong industrial mechanical experience will also be considered, and we can train the right candidate on motor-specific processes.]**
## [What You'll Do]{#what-youll-do}
You'll be involved in the complete electric motor repair process, including:
Disassemble and inspect industrial electric motors
Determine repair needs and help identify causes of failure
Measure bearing fits and other machined surfaces using **micrometers and calipers**
Assemble new and repaired electric motors
Dynamically balance rotors
Perform winding and insulation testing
Take vibration readings and perform laser alignments
Perform final run testing on completed motors
Document inspection results, measurements, and completed work
Assist with fabrication and TIG welding as needed
Prepare and paint completed motors
Assist with field service at customer locations when needed
Work with other members of the shop to complete repairs safely and on schedule
## [What We're Looking For]{#what-were-looking-for}
Mechanical aptitude and hands-on industrial experience
Experience assembling and disassembling mechanical equipment
Ability to accurately use micrometers, calipers, and other measuring equipment
Electric motor repair experience is a **strong plus**
Experience with balancing, vibration analysis, alignment, welding, or electrical testing is a plus
Ability to work safely around large industrial equipment
Willingness to occasionally work overtime or weekends when needed
Willingness to occasionally travel to customer locations for field service
