Job Summary
We are currently hiring for the following location(s):
- Philomont Community Center, Philomont, VA
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Design, implement, and manage diverse recreational programs tailored to the needs of our community, including youth, teens, adults, and seniors.
- Actively engage with community members to assess their needs and interests, ensuring the programs are inclusive and accessible, especially for underserved and hard-to-reach populations.
- Organize and oversee all aspects of special events, including creation, marketing, logistics, budgeting, permitting, staffing, etc.
- Develop and implement a marketing strategy to ensure high levels of participation in all recreation programs.
- Supervision of part-time Instructor and/or Camp staff, to include interviewing, onboarding, discipline, and evaluation.
- Work collaboratively with other staff members and volunteers to create a supportive and enjoyable environment for all.
- Other essential job functions that are specific to the position and department assignment may be carried out.
*The work schedule offers flexibility and is in accordance with both current and future operational hours, which include weekdays, evenings, and weekends. *
Minimum Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
- One (1) year of supervisory experience in a related field.
- One (1) year of experience developing and implementing recreational programs for all ages in a community setting.
- One (1) year of experience managing large-scale events and conducting outreach activities in a community setting.
- Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP) is preferred.
Job Contingencies and Special Requirements
Must undergo criminal background, credit, Child Protective Services (CPS), and DMV background checks. You must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record. For continued qualifications, driving records may be reviewed annually. Fingerprints and TB tests must be conducted within 30 days of employment. First Aid/CPR certification is required to be obtained within four months of being hired or at the time of hiring.
Salary : $47,389 - $80,562
