Loudoun County Child Protective Services (CPS) seeks a knowledgeable, motivated, and skilled trainer to develop and lead practical training sessions for Child Protective Services (CPS) staff involved in Intake, Investigations, Assessments, and In-Home Services. The CPS Training Specialist will be responsible for creating new curricula, updating existing ones, providing practical coaching, guiding, and evaluating the development of new hires through a structured onboarding process, and supporting the growth of experienced staff in collaboration with assigned supervisors.In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring our CPS staff are equipped with the essential skills and knowledge to effectively protect and support children and families. Your expertise will directly influence the safety and well-being of our community's most vulnerable members. The training programs you develop will improve our team's capabilities and foster a culture of continuous quality improvement and best practices, thereby strengthening and sustaining our workforce.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Training Design & Delivery Develop and facilitate engaging, interactive training on various critical topics, including: Family Engagement Strategies.Safety and Risk Assessments.CPS Intake, Family Assessments, Investigations, and In-Home Services.Relevant Laws, CPS Policy, and State Guidance.Cultural Humility, Bias Awareness, and Trauma-Informed Practice.Evidence-based Modalities and Techniques.Service Planning, Progress, and Outcome Monitoring.Accurate and Timely Case Documentation.Curriculum & Program Development: Develop and revise manuals, learning guides, e-learning modules, and handouts.Conduct training needs assessments and gather feedback from staff and supervisors.Evaluate training effectiveness and make data-informed adjustments.
