EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
We're seeking qualified applicants for substitute After-School Leader positions with the County After-School Activities (CASA) program and Youth After-School (YAS) program. CASA and YAS are highly respected after-school programs serving Loudoun County's elementary and middle school-aged youth for over 30 years. Our team celebrates diversity, whether cultural, linguistic, or ability-related related to ensure every child feels welcome, respected, and included. An After-School Leader assists in the planning and implementation of recreational activities such as indoor and outdoor games, arts and crafts, holiday-themed and special projects, as well as quieter activities like snacks and homework time for children. A successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for working and nurturing youth.We are currently hiring for the following location(s): • Positions are available at various sites in Loudoun County. Applicants must be willing to work at multiple programming sites. Options are listed in the supplemental questions of the application.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Lead recreational programs for children by following curriculum, complying with safety compliance standards, training, performance, and conflict resolution applications.• Facilitate activities, group games, and reading time following curriculum plans and the needs of the children.• Provide a welcoming and safe environment for children and assist with daily health checks, handle food service items, and emergency procedures.• Other essential job duties relevant to the role and department may be required.*Please include all employment and volunteer experience working with or supervising children in childcare, recreation, and educational settings*The CASA program operates Monday-Friday, 2:00 p.m.- 6:00 p.m., and the YAS program operates Monday-Friday, 3:15 pm - 6:15 pm, following Loudoun County's Public schools' academic (10-month) year calendar.Hiring salary is commensurate with experience.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Must undergo pre-employment, criminal, and fingerprinting background checks. Prior to employment, individuals must have First Aid (Infant through Adult) and CPR certifications, or obtain them within 30 days of starting their job. Pass TB screening questions prior to hire and every two years thereafter. A sworn disclosure statement or affirmation must be completed, revealing any criminal convictions or pending criminal charges upon employment and every 5 years subsequently. Bilingual abilities are desirable.
