Roles and Responsibilities

- Works with the Supervisor of Gifted Education to evaluate and enhance programming for students eligible for gifted services.
- Supports the gifted eligibility process including district-wide data collection, parent notification, and gifted information sessions. Conducts training for gifted resource teachers. Administers and/or coordinates the administration of the Cognitive Abilities Test to support the eligibility process.
- Coordinates all aspects of student participation in Summer Residential Governor's School.
- Serves as a mentor to new gifted resource teachers and provides curriculum support to resource teachers as needed.
- Organizes district-wide professional development meetings.
- Promotes gifted education by assisting with the following tasks: maintaining gifted education calendar, publishing weekly updates, and responding to parent inquiries.
Qualifications

Education
- Masters' Degree in education with endorsement in gifted education
Experience
- Five years of gifted classroom experience
Licenses and Certifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Experience and knowledge in curriculum development and professional learning
- Ability to establish working relationships with school-based and central office staff
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
