Job Summary
The Loudoun County Department of General Services is seeking to hire part-time Scalehouse Operators within the Waste Management Division.
This position will support scale operations during peak times. Employees in this position work one or two shifts each week, totaling 8-10 hours weekly. Scheduling needs are greatest on Saturdays and Mondays. All work hours are between the hours of 7:00am and 5:00pm, Monday through Saturday.
The successful candidate will operate all functions of the scalehouse in accordance with department policies and serve as the first point of contact for customers depositing waste at the Loudoun County Landfill. This position will accurately assess the waste type customers bring to the landfill and charge appropriate fees; communicate waste policy and user fees to the public; provide accurate and complete revenue collections; assure that cash, credit/debit card, and account charges are reconciled; and provide additional support in other landfill operations, as needed.
Hiring salary is commensurate with experience.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; three (3) years of related work experience with experience in a cashier/customer service role; or equivalent combination of education and experience. One (1) year of experience using computers with MS Word or related database experience preferred. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.
