Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Bus Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial driving, particularly driving a school bus, and possess a strong commitment to safety. As a Bus Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting elementary and middle school students home from school each day.
We have openings for school bus drivers that can work both the morning and afternoon routes. Drivers that work both morning and afternoon are eligible for various benefits including health insurance, dental insurance and retirement plan benefits.
Responsibilities
- Safely and punctually operate a school bus to drop-off students during the afternoon route and on occasional local field trips.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition and adhere to all traffic safety laws and regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of routes and passengers and identify and address any passenger safety issues or vehicle mechanical issues that occur during a route and report them to the appropriate staff person.
Qualifications
- Valid Class B commercial driver's license (CDL) is required OR Valid Class C commercial driver's license (CDL) with a P & S endorsement.
- Experience driving a school bus.
- Evidence of punctuality and responsibility and an excellent driving record.
- Experience working with children and ability to engage positively with young passengers.
- Able to fuel and clean the bus and adequate mechanical knowledge to perform basic maintenance checks and troubleshoot minor issues.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
