Band/Choral Teacher (Grades 4-8)
Supervisor: Middle School Director
Classification: Part Time
Loudoun Country Day School (LCDS) is looking for an enthusiastic, talented educator to join our community as a middle and lower school band teacher for the 2026-27 academic year. Reporting to the Middle and/or Lower School Director, our new band teacher will be a collaborative and passionate educator who understands the nuances of middle school and middle grades children. The ideal candidate will be an experienced and dedicated professional who is able to communicate and collaborate with students, parents/guardians, fellow classroom teachers, and school staff, and is committed to the mission and core values of LCDS.

● An appreciation for the unique qualities of students in grades 4-8
● A willingness to employ differentiated instruction to meet learners at their level of need
● Experience teaching Band/Chorus in a middle or lower school setting
● Bachelor's degree in Education, Music, or a related field (advanced degree preferred but not required)
● Experience and ability to teach/conduct choral groups a plus, but not required
Teaching Requirements:
● Teach 10 periods of grades 4-8 band per week.
● Support and contribute to all music department events
● Attend all required meetings
● Attend LCDS required events throughout the year.
- Attend and direct the annual, evening Winter Music Performance, including teaching four additional class periods in November/December, during which students rehearse for the performance.
- Attend and direct the annual, evening Spring Music Performance, including teaching four additional class periods in April/May, during which students rehearse for the performance.
- Attend the Grandparents' Day Performance, which will be held in early May.
- Attend the Graduation Ceremony, which will be held in early June.
● Engage in classroom observations by administration and colleagues
