Housekeeping Supervisor

Job description:

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Head Housekeeper to lead our housekeeping team and ensure all guest rooms and common areas meet high standards of cleanliness and presentation. This role is responsible for supervising daily housekeeping operations, inspecting rooms, and ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and on time.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills and take pride in maintaining a clean, organized environment. Responsibilities include overseeing housekeeping staff, managing inventory of supplies and linens, performing laundry duties (washing, drying, and folding), and reporting any maintenance issues to the office. This position also requires coordinating daily room priorities and supporting staff to maintain consistent quality standards.

Candidates must be able to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish and be capable of lifting at least 40 pounds. This is a hands-on role that requires attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while leading a team.

Responsibilities:

• Assigning housekeeping tasks to staff and inspecting work to ensure that the prescribed standards of cleanliness are met.
• Scheduling staff shifts and organizing replacements as required.
• Investigating and addressing complaints regarding poor housekeeping service.
• Providing training to the housekeeping staff.
• Regularly taking inventory of cleaning supplies and ordering stock as needed.
• Issuing cleaning supplies and equipment to housekeeping staff as needed.
• Supervise and coordinate housekeeping staff to ensure all rooms are cleaned efficiently and within required timeframes
• Inspect guest rooms and common areas to ensure cleanliness and quality standards are consistently met
• Perform laundry duties, including washing, drying, and folding linens and other items
• Report any maintenance issues or safety concerns promptly to the office or appropriate department
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation guidelines
• Assist with scheduling and daily task assignments for housekeeping staff
• Coordinate with front desk/management on room status and priorities (check-ins/check-outs)
• Maintain lost and found procedures
• Handle guest requests or complaints related to housekeeping in a professional manner

Pay: $16.90 per hour

Experience:

• Cleaning Experience: 1 year (Preferred)
• Hotel Experience: 1 year (Preferred)
