Role Description:
This is a part-time/full-time on-site role for a Montessori Preschool Lead Teacher located in Quincy, MA. The Lead Teacher will be responsible for co-creating lesson plans, curriculum development, early childhood education, effective communication, and kindergarten activities. Lotus teachers receive ongoing coaching and feedback on their daily classroom instruction. Our organization actively encourages and facilitates teachers to provide feed back to one another. viewing this collaborative process as a key element in improving overall teaching quality and professional development among their staff.
Experience:
- Lesson Planning and Curriculum Development skills
- Experience in Early Childhood Education
- Strong Communication skills
- Knowledge of Kindergarten education
- Certification in Montessori Education or Early Childhood Education is (preferred)
- Previous experience working in a Montessori environment is a plus
Responsibilities
- Co-teach children ages 2y9m–6y using authentic Montessori methods enriched with anti-bias, anti-racist practices.
- Maintain online student observations, records, and data
- Support and lead assessment cycles and reporting processes for all students
- Engage in ongoing professional development as a liberatory Montessori leader and co-teacher.
- Communicate with families through meetings, newsletters, and family education events
- co-develop formal lesson plans and teach lessons that are observed by coordinators and administrators
- participate in ongoing staff development sessions

Hours & Benefits

Physical Requirements:
This role requires the ability to move around the classroom and outdoor areas, engage with students at their level (e.g., sitting on the floor and frequently standing), and lift materials up to 30 pounds. Clear vision, hearing, and manual dexterity are necessary to interact with and supervise students safely.
