What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lotus House Thrift Donations Coordinator position at LOTUS HOUSE WOMEN'S SHELTER?
Lotus House Thrift is seeking a Donations Coordinator who will be responsible for a wide range of duties related to thrift operations, public awareness, donor engagement, and resource development in support of the Foundation's mission to serve homeless and disadvantaged women, youth, and children.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- In cooperation with the Outreach Team, supervise and coordinate volunteers, interns, and staff in carrying out programs, services, events, and activities at Lotus House Thrift and, when needed, at Lotus House and Children's Village.
- Manage all donations received through Lotus House Thrift, including donation intake, sorting, processing, merchandising, inventory management, and all other aspects of the donation cycle.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with collaborating nonprofit organizations to ensure an efficient and effective re-donation process.
- Manage the tax receipt process for all donations received through Lotus House Thrift, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and a positive donor experience.
- Assist with store operations, including opening and closing procedures, ongoing cleaning and maintenance, merchandising, organization, and other operational needs as assigned.
- Help ensure that the Lotus House Thrift environment remains welcoming, organized, safe, clean, and well-maintained for all interns, volunteers, donors, shoppers, and staff.
- Maintain accurate records and reports related to donations, inventory, donor engagement, and operational activities.
- Comply with all Foundation policies, procedures, standards, and protocols.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management to support the mission and operations of Lotus House Thrift.
Qualifications
- Strong organizational and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working with volunteers, donors, and community partners preferred.
- Must be able to pass a Level 2 background.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, move, and organize donated items as needed.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks associated with thrift store operations.
