About This Role:

ILS or Independent Living Services/ Homemaking are provided to vulnerable adults who successfully live on their own with varying levels of support. An ILS worker provides this support by working 1-on-1 with the person through a series of weekly meetings.

Companionship and support

• Providing reassurance and emotional support, especially for those with anxiety or confusion
• Engaging in conversation or activities like watching TV
• Supporting communication with family members

Household and daily tasks

• Preparing meals, such as breakfast
• Tidying up after meals and other light housekeeping
• Assisting with other tasks as needed, such as repositioning to prevent bedsores

Personal care and hygiene

• Helping with bathing, dressing, and oral hygiene
• Assisting with toileting, including getting to the bathroom or changing incontinence pads

Behavioral Essential duties

• Implement behavior intervention plans under the supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst.
• Provide direct care and support to individuals with autism and related developmental disabilities.
• Assist with the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans.
• Conduct data collection and analysis to track progress and outcomes.
• Assist with crisis management and behavior support as needed.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated care.
• Provide support during community outings and social activities.

Requirements

• Experience with different personalities and backgrounds
• CPR and First Aid Certified - We provide free training!
• 18 years or older
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Compassion and passion for supporting your community.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Availability to work weekend.
• Basic Computer skills
• Must be physically fit and be able to stand, squat, bend, or walk for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift 50lbs is necessary.
• Current Driver's License, auto insurance, and a clean record
• Pass a MN DHS Background Study
• Being a positive influence in a person’s life and assisting a person making responsible choices.
• Ability to work independently of a supervisor in a relaxed environment while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Provide prevention-oriented therapy.
• Implement and review treatment plans.
• Collaborate with additional treatment providers.
• Ensure all documentation is completed in a timely manner.
• Creativity and problem solving with the individual to meet life’s challenges and develop personal goals.
• Being a job coach, life coach, and teammate to a person who has more barriers in their life than most.
• Establish open lines of communication for individuals with mental or emotional issues

Hours Worked: Full-Time, 7am-3pm & every other weekend.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 per week
