We are located at 3701 Eastern Avenue Baltimore, MD 21224. Our ideal candidate is attentive, punctual, and hard-working. The Youth Worker plays a critical role in supporting the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development of youth enrolled in the IPROMISE Summer Program. This position is responsible for facilitating structured enrichment activities, maintaining a safe and engaging environment, and serving as a positive role model for participants.
Youth Workers are expected to lead with consistency, energy, and accountability while contributing to a high-quality, well-organized program experience.

Responsibilities:
Youth Engagement & Supervision
Supervise and actively engage groups of youth (elementary through high school age) in a safe and structured environment
Maintain consistent awareness of student whereabouts and behavior at all times
Build positive, respectful relationships with youth to foster trust and engagement
Enrichment & Activity Facilitation
Lead and support daily enrichment activities, including:
Academic reinforcement (reading, math, homework support)
Social-emotional learning activities
Recreational and team-building exercises
Facilitate group workshops that promote social skills, emotional growth, and confidence-building
Adapt activities to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of participants
Behavioral Support
Implement behavior management strategies aligned with program expectations
Reinforce positive behavior through structured systems and incentives
De-escalate conflicts and redirect behavior in a calm, professional manner
Report behavioral concerns to supervisors promptly
Program Operations
Assist with daily program setup, transitions, and cleanup
Support attendance tracking and documentation as required
Ensure materials, supplies, and activity spaces are organized and prepared
Follow all program schedules and operational procedures with fidelity
Safety & Compliance
Maintain a safe environment by adhering to all program policies and procedures
Ensure proper supervision during indoor and outdoor activities, including field trips
Respond appropriately to emergencies and incidents
Comply with mandated reporting requirements and organizational standards
Team Collaboration
Work collaboratively with other Youth Workers, Behavioral Health Workers (BHWs), and leadership staff
Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and daily briefings
Communicate effectively regarding student needs, concerns, and progress
Qualifications Required
High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience working with youth in a camp, school, or community-based setting
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage groups and maintain structure in a dynamic environment
Reliable, punctual, and able to maintain professional boundaries
Preferred
College coursework in education, psychology, social work, or related field
Experience with behavior management and/or social-emotional learning
CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)

Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years or older
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Ability to manage and supervise groups of 10–15 youth in a structured setting
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to pass background check and child abuse clearance (in compliance with state regulations)
- Physically able to stand, walk, and actively engage for extended periods
