Overview

Loss of Spouse Sanctuary is a compassionate community organization dedicated to supporting individuals who have experienced the loss of a spouse to death. We offer a Christ-centered environment where widows and widowers find solace, understanding, and rejuvenation. We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Executive Director to lead our organization with passion for our mission and values, strategic insight, and a commitment to fostering support partner relationships. This pivotal role involves ensuring alignment with mission, goals, and compliance standards in the oversight of all aspects of:

  • program development and management;
  • organizational leadership including work with a volunteer board of directors and organization members;
  • staff management and mentorship;
  • strategic planning;
  • financial management and leadership, including development of support partners and fundraising;
  • community engagement; and
  • marketing, communications and public speaking.

Our ideal candidate will be a motivational leader with a proven track record of success in nonprofit management. They will be committed to achieving our goals, and will be a strategic thinker who is able to balance short-term needs with long-term planning. They will also have excellent communication skills and be able to represent L.O.S.S. to a variety of audiences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, e.g. nonprofit management, business administration, social work
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in nonprofit management or a related field
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated experience in fundraising and development
  • Knowledge of nonprofit financial management and budgeting
  • Ability to work collaboratively with Staff, a Board of Directors, Members, Donors, Sponsors, and other Stakeholders
  • Passion for the organization's mission and values
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace applications (Gmail, Contacts, Calendar, Meet, Drive, Documents, Sheets, Voice, and Slides) for communication, data analysis, and presentations
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
