What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance/Janitorial position at Los Gatos Swim and Racquet Club?
We are hiring for both a morning shift and a night shift.
Morning Shift:
- Wednesday–Friday: 4:30 AM – 1:00 PM
- Saturday–Sunday: 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM
- Days off: Monday and Tuesday
Night Shift:
- Monday–Thursday: 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM
- Sunday: 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM
- Days off: Friday and Saturday
Job Results:
Ensures cleanliness of the Club and its facilities.
Ensure cleanliness of Locker Rooms.
Maintains interior and exterior building accessibility and appearance by picking up trash and papers around the property.
Maintains the Front Office by emptying trash cans, recycling and vacuuming.
Keeps cleaning products safe and usable by utilizing safe and proper mixing techniques per labeling instruction.
Ensures interior and exterior appearance of the club is clean, neat, tidy and in keeping with club standards.
Ensure safe work practices.
Perform special request tasks by being accessible and flexible.
Assist members and staff by answering questions promptly and courteously.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Physical Demands of the Position:
Standing 95% of shift. Lifting items weighing 5-51 lbs. during daily routine. Bending, stretching, straining, stooping, kneeling, going up and down step ladders, exposed to weather conditions. Repetitive arm and shoulder use, including gripping and grasping. Pushing cleaning carts, laundry carts, vacuums and floor cleaning machines. Wrist (right or left) for cleaning, dusting, bagging and folding towels. Exposure, inhalation to chemical fumes and skin contact with chemicals.
Previous cleaning experience: Minimum 6 months.
Equipment Use Requirements:
Ladders, vacuum, cleaning chemical mixing procedure, broom, mop, dust mop, bowl brushes, plungers, vent brushes, gloves, goggles, cart, and other related cleaning equipment.
