This person is the “engine room” — the one who ensures fundraising execution runs flawlessly while freeing up the Executive Director to focus on overall fundraising strategy, major gift development, and promoting the organization at external events/meetings, etc. The Finance & Development Manager manages gift processing, donor systems and tracking, campaign execution support, event logistics, and financial tracking. They ensure fundraising operations are accurate, timely, and donor centered. The Finance & Development Manager is highly organized, detail-oriented, and is someone who thrives in both the behind-the-scenes systems work as well as high-energy fundraising moments.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Gift Processing & Donor Database Management (35%)

• Process all donations (online, check, stock, corporate match, DAF) accurately and promptly.

• Ensure timely acknowledgement letters and tax receipts.

• Maintain and reconcile donor database (CRM) records.

• Track pledges, recurring gifts, and payment schedules.

• Manage donor segmentation and list pulls for campaigns.

• Maintain data integrity and reporting accuracy.

2. Campaign Execution & Fundraising Support (35%)

• Execute logistics for annual campaigns (communications, mailings, online setup, tracking, etc).

• Coordinate campaign calendars and deadlines.

• Design marketing materials, create graphics, mailings, etc.

• Prepare donor lists, tracking reports, and progress dashboards.

• Support Executive Director with business sponsorship fulfillment.

• Coordinate matching gift outreach and follow-up.

3. Event Logistics (10%)

• Support Board Events Committee with operational planning and logistics for events.

• Manage registration platforms and guest lists.

• Support coordination with vendors, venues, timelines, and materials.

• Support Executive Director and Board Events Committee in tracking sponsorships.

4. Budget Preparation & Financial Tracking (10%)

• Partner with the Executive Director, Board President, and Board Treasurer to track revenue and expenses against the budget.

• Prepare financial updates for monthly board meetings.

• Reconcile development reports with accounting.

5. Systems & Process Improvement (10%)

• Evaluate and improve development systems, including identifying opportunities to streamline processes through technology, automation, and improved system integration.


Success Measures: 


• In partnership with the Executive Director, meet or exceed annual fundraising targets ($2.7M).

• Maintain clean data and timely reporting.

• Annual parent campaign runs on schedule, with real-time tracking of revenue.

• Seamless events where the Executive Director and Board Members can focus on event strategy and relationships.


Reporting Structure:


• Reports to: Executive Director

• Works closely with: Board Treasurer, Board Events Committee, Board Marketing Committee


Experience:


• 2–4 years in nonprofit development operations or fundraising support.

• Strong CRM/database management experience.

• Experience supporting fundraising events.

• Familiarity with budget tracking and financial reporting.


Compensation & Benefits:


Salary Range

The anticipated salary range for this position is $75,000-$85,000 annually, depending on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated expertise in nonprofit finance and fundraising operations.
