Job Description:

As a member of our educational team, you will work collaboratively with classroom teachers and other gifted education specialists to provide enriched learning experiences for students identified as gifted. This involves designing and delivering extension activities in both pull-out and inclusion settings for K-3 students as part of the identification process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Schedule regular services and document student contact and activities, ensuring seamless coordination between teachers and support staff.
• Maintain regular communication with all identified gifted services, including developing annual IEP goals that cater to individual student needs.
• Monitor progress on IEP goals and provide quarterly progress reports to parents, fostering a collaborative approach to student development.
• Engage in regular consultations with teachers to discuss curriculum differentiation strategies for gifted students and track their progress.

Requirements:

• NM K-8 Elementary Teaching License or Any NM Instructional Teaching license with gifted endorsement or NM Special Education Teaching License
• Preferred experience in an elementary setting working with gifted students; strong collaboration and effective communication skills; familiarity with the IEP process for gifted students; understanding of various models for serving gifted and talented students is a plus

Work Schedule:
Full-time position, 40 hour week
