What are the responsibilities and job description for the Training Camp Intern position at Los Angeles Rams?
Role Overview:
Every year, the Los Angeles Rams bring together thousands of fans as we kick off a new season at Training Camp. Training Camp is a free event, making it a unique opportunity to engage fans of all backgrounds by giving them unparalleled access and the ability to get up close and personal with our team. We look to build our new generation of fans at Training Camp. As an organization, we strive to make Los Angeles better by connecting people through sport, both on and off the field. We are about the legacy of fandom that brings together generations of families year after year, we are about the excitement of sport and life events – an experience that cannot be replicated. To kick off our season with fans, The Los Angeles Rams are looking for our next class of interns to help make Training Camp the best experience for fans over 3 weeks this summer. We are looking for outgoing, energetic, enthusiastic, and reliable members to become an extension of the Rams brand. Most importantly we are looking for team players who want to foster a positive community. This event specific position will report directly into the Manager of Marketing Strategy and Operations. The internship will include a 3 day career development program prior to Training Camp opening and will occur over the last week of July and first two weeks of August.
Role Responsibilities:
- Be an extension of the Rams brand and team for fans at training camp
- Assist the Rams front office in executing activations and enhancing the fan experience
- Become an expert on Rams Training Camp, including but not limited to, wayfinding, fan activations, food and beverage options, and family activities
- Provide fans with knowledge of relevant Rams-related news and information, including but not limited to current team news, organizational structure, and history in order to perform job responsibilities
- Assist with the execution of fan entry and ticketing experience
- Responsible for installation, set-up, and teardown of select interactive elements
Role Qualifications (Skills/Experience/Capabilities):
- Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits)
- Must be willing to work in Irvine, CA
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must have reliable transportation to and from all shifts
- Work all days of training camp. Shifts typically begin 1 hour before gates and end 1 hour after practice
- Must be passionate about the Los Angeles Rams and the game of football
- Excellent problem solving and creative skills
- Ability to stand for entire four (4) to eight (8) hour shift; walk; reach with hands and arms and occasionally lift a minimum of 25 pounds
- Able to work flexible hours (including weekends)
- Ability to withstand a wide range of weather conditions (heat, sun, rain)
- Strong listening skills including the ability to empathize with our fans
- Maintain a positive outlook that demonstrates approachability and friendliness
- Effective interpersonal skills while working in a fast-paced environment
Salary: $16/hr.
