The Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) is seeking experienced professionals for the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems Manager position. This role involves leveraging ERP expertise to streamline operations and oversee QA support for the countywide integrated business system.
This position plans, organizes, directs, and coordinates the business process, operation, support, and improvement of the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system across multiple functional areas, such as financial/accounting, procurement, payroll, budget, and human resources; develops requirements, policies, and procedures to guide ERP system transition and long-term support
The Well Qualified Candidate Will Possess the Following
Knowledge:
- Principles and practices of human capital management, payroll, retirement, benefits, accounting, and financial functional areas
- Implementation, configuration, deployment, of ERP systems (e.g. PeopleSoft, Oracle, SAP, CGI)
- Principles and practices of ERP system functionality, database tables structure, design, testing, and analysis
- Processes and practices in developing technical systems documentation, including documenting and detailing functional and technical specifications
- Business Intelligence (BI) practices and related technologies (e.g., SAP Business Objects, Microsoft Power BI)
- Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other MS Office applications
- Federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, codes, and regulations related to finance, procurement, budget, payroll, benefits, retirement, and human capital/human resources management
- Appropriate methods of training, group facilitation, and instructional techniques
- Fundamental concepts of employment laws, codes, and regulations, including EEO, FLSA, FMLA, and Cal/OSHA and applicable provisions of collective bargaining agreements
- Analyzing & Interpreting Data – Drawing meaning and conclusions from quantitative and/or qualitative data
- Critical Thinking – Analytically and logically evaluating information, propositions, and claims

Education: A bachelor's degree from an institution of higher learning recognized by the Council of Higher Education Accreditation. Foreign degrees and credit units require translation and equivalency established by an agency recognized by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
Experience: Five years of experience coordinating ERP system implementation and performing system testing in one or more of the following functional areas: payroll, human resources/human capital, and/or finance, including two years of lead experience.
Additional Requirements: Experience implementing ERP systems in a California public sector (e.g., K-12 school district, community college, county office of education) agency is preferred. A valid California driver’s license and the availability of private transportation or the ability to provide transportation between job sites may be required.
Hybrid remote schedules may be available.
Selection Process

Candidates who pass all exam parts are ranked according to overall exam score and placed on an eligibility (hiring) list. Vacant positions are filled from the top three ranks. Eligibility lasts for 12 months; however, additional recruitment may occur under a separate bulletin with additional candidates being merged onto the eligibility list.
