The Tasting Room Education Class Team Member supports the daily operations of the tasting room and education classroom while helping create an exceptional guest experience. This role assists supervisors and management with class preparation, guest engagement, inventory support, and maintaining a clean and organized environment. The position requires strong customer service skills, teamwork, and attention to detail to ensure a welcoming and professional atmosphere for guests.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Education Class
• Assist with the setup, execution, and cleanup of education classes.
• Prepare classroom materials, glassware, and supplies prior to scheduled classes.
• Support supervisors and management with operational and administrative tasks as needed.
Guest Experience
• Provide a warm, welcoming environment for all guests.
• Deliver excellent customer service and assist guests throughout their tasting experience.
• Share basic knowledge of wines, olive oils, spirits and dairy products to enhance guest engagement.
• Communicate guest questions or feedback to supervisors or management when necessary.
Tasting Room Operations
• Assist with organizing and maintaining inventory of wines, olive oils, cheeses, glassware, and other supplies.
• Restock service areas as needed during shifts.
• Support smooth daily operations by assisting team members during busy periods.
Setup, Cleanliness & Maintenance
• Prepare the education classroom for daily operations and scheduled classes.
• Set up and break down tasting stations, glassware, and materials.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of workspaces, service areas, and storage areas.
• Assist with light kitchen duties including food and beverage preparation when needed.
Health & Safety
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and alcohol/food service regulations.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment for guests and staff.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with guests and team members
• Interest in or willingness to learn about wines, olive oils, and hospitality products
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
Certifications
• Food Handler’s Permit (required or ability to obtain)
• Alcohol Server Certification may be required depending on local regulations
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF JOB
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
