Report Writer

The Report Writer will observe and report incidents and suspicious activities. This position will be responsible for writing reports and logging in information. This position may be exposed to or required to handle sensitive and confidential information. The Report Writer will be required to have the physical and mental capacity to perform effectively all essential functions, with or without reasonable accommodations.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepares logs or reports as required for site
• Writes and/or types reports
• Enter information in a computer, using excellent grammar
• Inspects security control logs and takes action as required
• Observes and reports incidents or suspicious activity to client representatives, company management, life/safety personnel or public safety authorities as appropriate for the circumstances and/or as required by the site
• Other duties as assigned

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

• Prior report writing experience with PD, Fire, Military, and/or Insurance Agencies
• Must have excellent writing skills and grammar
• Must have working knowledge of MS Word
• Must have the ability to speak, read, and write English
• Ability to write routine correspondence, including logs and reports
• Must have good organizational skills
• Knowledge of, or the ability to learn, security operations and procedures
• Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form
• Ability to be an effective team member
• Ability to maintain professional composure when dealing with unusual circumstances
• Must have excellent customer service skills, including courteous telephone manners
• Ability to maintain professional composure when dealing with unusual circumstances
• Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively at various social levels and across diverse cultures
• Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
• Must have basic computer knowledge

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF JOB

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must have a reliable means of communication, preferably a phone
• Must have reliable transportation, public or private
• Must have a High School Diploma or GED
• May be required to work overtime, without advanced notice
• Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time
• Must be able to move around grounds with ease
• May be required to reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds
• Must be able to work in various weather conditions, such as heat, rain, and cold
• May be required to drive a vehicle in the performance of duties
• Must have a driver license and a good driving record
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, holidays and every day of the L.A. County Fair

Salary : $21
