- Assist the Chargers Grounds Team in planning and executing all maintenance activities for practice fields.
- Support upkeep of the surrounding facility landscape, ensuring all areas are maintained to a high professional standard.
- Safely operate, clean, and maintain grounds and field‑maintenance equipment.
- Assist with setup and breakdown of practice fields for daily team use and special events.
- Evaluate field conditions and identify needs for adjustments to maintain NFL‑level player safety.
- Assist with painting and lining fields to meet NFL accuracy and consistency standards.
- Help monitor and adjust the irrigation system daily; escalate performance issues as needed.
- Perform required NFL practice field safety tests and help report performance metrics for maintenance planning.
- Apply foliar and granular fertilizers, fungicides, and insecticides according to safety protocols and field maintenance program standards.
- Ensure all chemicals and materials are handled, stored, and applied safely and in compliance with regulations.
- Help track inventory and assist with ordering supplies, materials, and equipment needed for grounds operations
- Bachelor’s degree or certificate in Turf Management or related field preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.
- 1–2 years of experience in landscape or athletic grounds maintenance.
- Ability to work long and non‑traditional hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Self‑motivated with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent physical activity including bending, kneeling, climbing ladders/stairs.
- Ability to work outdoors for extended periods, including in various weather conditions.
