Position: Resident Aide
Hiring Locations: Hawthorne, Montebello
Montebello is Hiring for :
- Friday - Monday (4/10) 9:00pm to 8:00am
- Friday - Monday (4/10) 9:30am to 8:30am
- Monday - Friday (5/8) 8:00am to 5:00pm
Hawthorne Hiring for:
- Part - Time Saturday & Sunday 3:00pm to 12:00am
Summary: Under the direct supervision of the Program Manager, the Resident Aide is responsible for monitoring the functional operation of the residential program to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
Essential Job Functions:
- Must be willing, able, and comfortable to perform job duties in a setting with persons experiencing homelessness
- Interacts with participants exhibiting symptoms of withdrawals and/or requesting assistance.
- Provides guidance, safety and stability.
- Identify emergency signals and respond appropriately.
- Ensure each participant is accounted for during various and assigned unit checks
- Monitor and walk-through within and perimeter of facility ensuring security and report of suspicious activity
- Accurately upkeep written and/or electronic log.
- Practice safety standards accordingly
- May assist with transportation for participants and/or other needs
Qualifications:
- 1 years (preferred) of experience working with persons experiencing homelessness, or a population diagnosed with severe and/or moderate mental disorders, or substance misuse
- Must be at least twenty-one years of age.
- Trained to recognize the symptoms and signs of substance abuse and to respond to drug overdose
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Attention to detail; ability to exercise good judgment and discretion.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.
- Maintain annual CPR Certification, First Aid Certification.
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED;
Must be able to pass the following pre-employment screenings:
- Background check, including criminal history (LA CADA considers all applicants equally and will take into account each applicant’s individual life circumstances).
- Drug and health screen, including negative TB test
- Employment and education verification
