CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER OPPORTUNITY AT LOS ALTOS GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB

Los Altos Golf & Country Club invites an accomplished and forward-thinking financial strategist to serve as its next Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This is a rare opportunity for a visionary and collaborative leader to help guide one of Northern California’s premier private clubs into its next era of growth and innovation. The CFO will bring strategic foresight and a deep understanding of long-range financial planning, helping to shape the Club’s future through robust capital reserve management and forward-focused modeling.

This is an onsite, highly visible role within a vibrant, family-oriented culture that values engagement, accessibility, and teamwork. The ideal candidate will be approachable, confident, and able to balance strategic leadership with active, hands-on involvement in the Club’s financial operations. Supported by a strong and capable Assistant Controller, the CFO will direct the overall financial vision while fostering excellence, accountability, and innovation across the department.

The role requires a technologically savvy, systems-literate leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and brings professionalism, clarity, and a forward-thinking mindset to every interaction—with the GM/COO, staff, department heads, members, and the Board.

CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER - POSITION OVERVIEW

The CFO at Los Altos Golf & Country Club is a hands-on, strategic partner to the GM/COO, the Board of Directors, and the Finance and Long-Range Planning Committees. This role is central to the Club’s continued modernization and fiscal strength, leading financial oversight, capital planning, and strategic forecasting initiatives. With a strong foundation of operational excellence already in place, the CFO will focus on elevating financial strategy, enhancing analytical tools, and ensuring long-term sustainability through data-driven insights and transparent communication.

This individual will lead with a “trust but verify” approach—establishing calm structure, mentorship, and clear delegation while encouraging innovation and accountability. A gifted communicator, the CFO will translate complex financial data into actionable narratives that empower leadership decisions. They will proactively advance technology and automation within a nearly paperless environment, refining digital tools and dashboards to increase clarity, speed, and precision in reporting. The CFO will also play a critical role in supporting committee relations, strengthening cross-department collaboration, and fostering a culture of transparency, responsiveness, and member service.

A 21st-century thinker and confident subject matter expert, the ideal candidate will possess the ability to “dial up or down” their approach as needed—whether mentoring staff, engaging with members, or leading a high-level board discussion. This role requires a proactive, approachable, and visionary leader who is equally adept at strategy and execution, ensuring Los Altos Golf & Country Club continues to thrive financially while upholding its legacy of excellence, warmth, and community.
