What You Will Do
The Digital Engineering Strategy (W-DES) group is looking for a Scientist to guide and support engineers and professional staff to support five weapon systems: B61, W76, W78, W88, and W93. The job duties include development, documentation and maintenance of the requirements integral to these weapon systems as well as managing any changes to the requirements as necessary. Interfacing with weapon system engineers, production realization team (PRT) leads, design physicists, and external agencies such as DoD and NNSA is an integral part of this position.

Minimum Job Requirements:
Technical Knowledge: Basic knowledge of professional R&D concepts, principles, practices, and procedures, as demonstrated by experience researching, designing, testing, analyzing, verifying, and validating solutions
Communication and Teamwork: Demonstrated written communication abilities. Ability to work independently and in a team environment to analyze problems, propose solutions to management, and deploy and document implemented solutions.
Education/Experience: Position requires a bachelor's degree in a STEM field from an accredited college or university and 2 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.

Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the time required, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader. The position commitment for this position is 1 year.

Clearance: Q (Position will be cleared to this level).
