What You Will Do
Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) is a multidisciplinary research institution engaged in science and engineering on behalf of national security. You will work within the Engineering Division and Modern Manufacturing Methodologies Group, a world-leading team in modern manufacturing techniques, risks analysis/management, and systems engineering. In this position, you will be a part of a cross-disciplinary collaboration working on a groundbreaking R&D to create solutions to complex problems. In this position you will develop process models and perform discrete event simulations to optimize processes and efficiency.

What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
Doctoral Degree in Industrial Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related STEM field of engineering, math, or physics.

What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Ability to create process models through the application of discrete-event simulation as the modeling methodology within an industrial setting using readily available commercial software
- Ability to perform discrete-event simulations and analyze the output data derived from simulation models using readily available mathematical and statistical software
- Experience creating and developing experiments within the discrete-event environment to better understand decision-making and "what-if" scenarios
- Demonstrated skills in a programming language
- The ability to work and communicate effectively in a diverse team environment
- Self-motivated and independent researcher who has demonstrated experience as part of an interdisciplinary team
- Ability to obtain a Q Clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship

- A record of achievement through reports, publications, intellectual property, and/or technical products

- Familiarity working with "big" datasets and working knowledge of machine learning tools
