SUMMARY:
The candidate must effectively evaluate teaching skills, job performance and monitor key performance indicators for the school staff. The position requires excellent interpersonal skills, strong self-discipline and the ability to organize and facilitate multiple projects at the same time.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as the administrative leader in the absence of the LAMS Principal
- Work directly and professionally with school staff, students and their families or guardian(s).
- Act as the main liaison regarding student attendance and discipline issues
- Work in collaboration with counselors to provide support and resources for students
- Conduct a portion of staff evaluations: NMTEACH / Oasys proficiency
- Assist with the daily coordination of school operations
- Coordinate with the site test coordinators in relation to all standardized testing at LAMS
- Develop and track the short cycle Measure of Academic Progress (MAP) schedule
- Assist in the planning and supervision of school events
- Attend IEP and SAT meetings as required or requested
- Act as the point person for LAMS for safety procedures and emergency drill schedules and planning
- Develop, Manage and track the Instructional Assistant’s and Teacher’s duty schedules
- Work in collaboration with the LAMS Principal and the Instructional Leadership Teams on the Educational Plan for Student Success (EPSS)
- Perform other reasonable job related duties as assigned by the LAMS Principal
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: LAMS Certified and Classified Staff
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Must hold a current NM Administrative License
- Educational License as a teacher or related field from New Mexico Public Education Department.
- MA in Education preferred but not required
- 2 years School Administration preferred but not required
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find acceptable.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to administrators, public groups/community, and Board of Education.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to assist with budget development, reconciliation and analysis
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
Demonstrated ability to utilize technology for implementing, maintaining, and evaluating the necessary programs at LAMS. Demonstrated proficiency in use of Microsoft Office applications, Google platform and NM PED required programs
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory in your applicable field. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and the school community. Ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communication. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all District requirements and Board of Education policies
