TRANSIT CUSTOMER SERVICE REP/DISPATCHER

Position Summary:
Under direct supervision of the Transit Supervisor, responds to calls for service, identifies and dispatches appropriate units, gathers, and relays pertinent information, documents calls and responses, coordinates both scheduled and on-demand operations, implements and adjusts the daily schedule, and complies with policies and procedures to assure the coordination of personnel and units with corresponding public needs and directs and coordinates real time transit operations and emergencies. Provides safe, courteous, and on-time transportation to the general public in a variety of mass transit vehicles. Provides a range of customer service and support to customers and community members for Atomic City Transit. Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• One year of customer service or administrative support in a transportation or dispatch work environment, or one -year of dispatching experience.
• Must possess or have ability to obtain within sixty days of employment and must maintain a valid New Mexico CDL-B driver’s license with a passenger bus endorsement.
• Must possess or have ability to obtain within six months of employment, and must maintain a basic first aid certification, CPR certification, and defensive driving certification.
• Must complete NMDOT Driver Training course or approved equivalent.
• Must attend within six months of employment an Emergency Response Preparedness program.
• Must possess or have ability to obtain within six months of employment and must maintain FTA approved Vehicle Operations, Managing Emergencies, and Customer Relations Certifications.
• Must take a computer test and a dispatcher skills test administered by Human Resources.
• Must successfully complete a thorough background investigation.
• Must successfully complete pre-employment physical exam prior to commencing work.
• Must successfully complete mandatory drug screening and subsequent random drug and alcohol screenings.
