DEPARTMENT/DIVISION: Various
SUPERVISOR: Department Director or Designee
Position Summary:
Under direct supervision of the Department Director or designee, assists engineering personnel, performs field survey work, construction inspection and quantity calculations, and prepares working drawings and topographical maps. Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Two years' experience as a general draftsman, survey party person, construction inspector, or Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) technician, underground utility locator or equivalent combination of experience.
- Must possess, or ability to obtain within sixty days of employment, and maintain a valid New Mexico Class D driver's license.
- Successful completion of the pre-employment physical exam prior to commencing work.
- If working in Utilities, must possess, or have the ability to obtain within six months of employment, and maintain successful completion of training and testing for Locating Technicians established by the National Utility Locating Contractors Association or the Illinois Staking University or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associates Degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering or related field.
- If working in Utilities, experience with New Mexico One Call and New Mexico excavation law.
