Position Overview
The Plant Manager will oversee end-to-end operations of a large-scale poultry processing facility, ensuring efficient production, strong quality standards, and optimal cost performance. This role requires a hands-on leader who can drive execution in a fast-paced, continuous production environment while building a strong culture of accountability, safety, and operational excellence.
The facility operates extended hours and includes multiple processing lines supporting deboning, portioning, and value-added poultry products.
This position offers a competitive compensation package, including a base salary depending on experience, a performance-based bonus of up to 40% of base salary, and annual employee ownership shares.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead overall plant operations including production, quality, safety, maintenance, and workforce management
- Oversee multiple production lines including deboning, portioning, and dicing operations
- Take full ownership of plant performance including P&L, cost control, yield improvement, and labor efficiency
- Develop and execute production plans aligned with demand forecasts and supply chain requirements
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve throughput, reduce waste, and enhance productivity
- Ensure accurate management of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods inventory
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety, quality standards, and regulatory compliance
- Lead and develop a large workforce across multiple shifts, fostering strong employee engagement and accountability
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including supply chain, sales, and maintenance to meet operational goals
- Monitor key performance indicators and implement corrective actions to ensure consistent plant performance
Qualifications
- 7 years of progressive leadership experience in poultry, meat, or protein processing environments
- Proven experience managing large-scale manufacturing operations (500 employees preferred)
- Strong expertise in deboning and portioning operations within poultry processing
- Demonstrated experience in P&L management and cost optimization
- Strong background in production planning, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement
- Excellent leadership presence with ability to manage and influence large teams
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and execution skills in a high-speed manufacturing environment
