Job Title: Endpoint Engineer
Overview
The Endpoint Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, security, and lifecycle management of endpoint devices across the organization. This role ensures a stable, secure, and scalable endpoint environment that supports business operations, enhances user productivity, and aligns with organizational standards and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Endpoint Management & Engineering
- Design, deploy, and maintain endpoint management solutions (e.g., Microsoft Intune, SCCM/MECM).
- Manage device provisioning, configuration, patching, and software deployment.
- Develop and maintain standardized images, builds, and configuration baselines.
- Support endpoint lifecycle management, including procurement, refresh cycles, and decommissioning.
Security & Compliance
- Implement and enforce endpoint security policies, including encryption, antivirus, and endpoint detection and response (EDR).
- Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, SOC2).
- Partner with cybersecurity teams to monitor and remediate vulnerabilities.
- Support zero-trust initiatives and conditional access strategies.
Automation & Scripting
- Develop scripts (PowerShell, Bash) to automate endpoint management tasks.
- Optimize processes for efficiency and scalability through automation.
User Support & Troubleshooting
- Serve as an escalation point for endpoint-related issues from desktop support teams.
- Troubleshoot complex hardware, OS, and application issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve incidents and minimize downtime.
Collaboration & Project Work
- Participate in IT projects such as system migrations, M&A integrations, and infrastructure upgrades.
- Collaborate with network, security, and application teams on endpoint-related initiatives.
- Support implementation of new technologies and tools.
Documentation & Process Improvement
- Create and maintain detailed documentation, including processes, configurations, and runbooks.
- Identify opportunities to improve service delivery, reduce manual effort, and enhance user experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3 7 years of experience in endpoint engineering or device management.
- Hands-on experience with endpoint management tools such as Microsoft Intune, SCCM/MECM, or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of Windows and/or macOS operating systems.
- Experience with Active Directory, Azure AD (Entra ID), and Group Policy.
- Proficiency in scripting (PowerShell required; other languages a plus).
- Knowledge of endpoint security best practices and tools (e.g., Defender, CrowdStrike).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in healthcare or highly regulated industries.
- Familiarity with VDI solutions and remote workforce support.
- Experience with mobile device management (MDM/MAM).
- Knowledge of ITIL practices and service management tools (e.g., ServiceNow).
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate, Security , ITIL).
