Job Description:
Establish and operate the Azure FinOps governance framework, including stakeholder engagement, review cadence, cloud spend KPIs, budget controls, tagging standards, and escalation processes.
Deliver Azure cost visibility and showback reporting for Finance, application owners, product teams, platform teams, operations teams, and leadership stakeholders.
Support cost allocation and chargeback models by aligning Azure consumption with business units, cost centers, applications, projects, environments, subscriptions, and resource groups.
Facilitate budget planning, forecasting, budget-versus-actual tracking, and variance analysis using Organization-provided financial and demand planning inputs.
Identify and manage a cost optimization opportunities pipeline, including:
Resource rightsizing
Idle and orphaned resource identification
Storage optimization
Dev/Test scheduling opportunities
Azure Reservations and Savings Plan recommendations
Architecture-level cost optimization assessments
Provide FinOps advisory services through collaboration with application, platform, finance, procurement, and operations teams to review spending trends and drive optimization actions.
Monitor and report on tagging compliance, allocation accuracy, and FinOps data quality against approved governance standards.
Conduct cost anomaly detection and analysis, including budget alerts, unusual spend spikes, and forecast deviations.
Prepare and maintain operational FinOps reporting packs, including:
Spend summaries
Budget and forecast reports
Showback/chargeback views
Savings opportunity tracking
Cost avoidance reporting (where measurable)
Tagging compliance reports
Risks, dependencies, and governance action tracking
Support and facilitate monthly, quarterly, and agreed governance reviews with stakeholders.
Develop and maintain FinOps processes, operating procedures, knowledge repositories, and supporting documentation.
Utilize Organization-approved FinOps platforms, Azure Cost Management tools, reporting solutions, and associated tooling to deliver the above services.
Support evaluation and onboarding of new FinOps tooling where required, including coordination of access, licensing, integrations, and governance approvals.
