Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper to manage comprehensive accounting functions for our manufacturing and repair company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Peachtree/Sage account software, and a solid understanding of GAAP principles. This role involves maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The Full Charge Bookkeeper will play a vital role in supporting our financial operations and ensuring the integrity of our financial data.
Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, including payroll taxes and related filings.
- Prepare and record journal entries, ensuring accuracy and adherence to GAAP
- Reconcile bank statements, general ledger accounts, and balance sheets regularly
- Maintain and update financial records using accounting software such as Sage, and other relevant platforms
- Perform account analysis and general ledger reconciliation to ensure data integrity
- Generate financial reports including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
- Assist with budgeting processes and financial planning activities
- Ensure compliance with governmental regulations and tax requirements
- Conduct double-entry bookkeeping to maintain accurate financial data
- Support external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations of financial transactions
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Full Charge Bookkeeper or similar role with expertise in manufacturing and repair accounting
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Peachtree, Sage, and other financial tools
- Strong understanding of GAAP, governmental accounting standards, and technical accounting concepts
- Experience with bank reconciliation, account reconciliation, journal entries, and general ledger management
- Knowledge of accounts payable/receivable processes and payroll administration
- Ability to perform balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis accurately
- Familiarity with tax preparation processes and compliance requirements
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; proficiency in 10-key typing is preferred
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data effectively
- Effective communication skills for preparing financial reports and collaborating with team members
