The Team

Our Technology Group is seeking a Technology Design Engineer (IT/AV/Security) with a proven interest in building design. Working closely with our clients, the Technology Group focuses on implementing IT/AV/Security design solutions for various project types. This position is in-person daily and is located in our New York City corporate office.

Role and Responsibilities

• Liaise between architects, clients, consultants, and project managers from multiple engineering trades
• Identify and implement cabling infrastructure requirements for each individual project
• Verify proper installation of all technology infrastructure equipment during project construction phase.
• Make determinations on project construction budgets, reviewing bid documents, and overseeing the project bidding and project administration phase.
• Make vendor recommendations.

Qualifications

• A baccalaureate degree in Electrical Engineering or related studies from an accredited 4-year institution.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in designing and drawing IT, AV, and security systems.
• Knowledge of IT, AV, and security systems including but not limited to flow diagrams, rack elevations and logical diagrams.
• Hands on experience with creating AV plans, engineering schematics, wiring diagrams.
• Knowledge of IT infrastructure including cable plant (horizontal & backbone), telecommunication room design, and pathways.
• Familiarity with AV, Security, and BICSI standards required.
• Experience with CAD & BIM software including AutoCAD & Revit.
• CTS-Certified Technology Specialist or RCDD certification a plus but not a requirement.
• Architectural drafting background a plus but not a requirement.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate thoughts and technical ideas in an accessible way, both verbally and in writing.
• Strong Analytical and quantitative skills, and a demonstrated capability for analysis and strategic thinking.
• Strong initiative—the willingness and ability to succeed in a collaborative, team-based environment.
• Ability to multi-task with multiple projects in order to meet strict deadlines.

The salary range for this position will be between $85,000- $105,000. This is a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this position. Actual base salary will vary and will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, education, skills, licensure, location and other business and organizational needs. Base salary is only one component of our total compensation package.
